Another Reason to Keep Your Promises
I like what Michelle Gielan has to say about keeping your promises .
"When we don't keep a promise to someone, it communicates to that person that we don't value him or her. We have chosen to put something else ahead of our commitment. Even when we break small promises, others learn that they cannot count on us. Tiny fissures develop in our relationships marked by broken promises."...

Keeping Your Birth Name Not So Unusual Now
When women decide to keep their birth names after marriage, people today aren't shocked. That wasn't the case back in the 1850s.
Lucy Stone started the trend to keep her own last (birth) name when she married in 1855. Much later, in the 1970s, more women made the same decision regarding their surnames. Some couples like Jennifer Mulhern Granholm and Daniel Granholm Mulhern take one another's surnames as their middle names.

Comments about individuals believing they are marrying their soul mates are often mentioned in press releases and stories about long lasting marriages. Soul mate movie themes are popular, too.

Gatekeeping and Nit-Picking in the Extreme
Have you read about the Sainsbury study showing women in the UK spending three hours a week redoing chores they think their husband did poorly? I couldn't believe it!
Deborah Arthurs: "But despite the findings, two thirds of women admit their partners do genuinely try to get things right, and four in 10 households now share the chores evenly. The survey also revealed one fifth of men aren't even aware of the fact they do the chores badly -- and half of women say they don't bother nagging them to do better."...

Kirk Cameron Takes Stand Against Same-Sex Marriage
Back in 2008, Kirk Cameron shared how important his wife Chelsea Noble was to him and fans and people in general supported his belief.
Flash forward to March 2012 when Cameron shared his thoughts about homosexuality and gay marriage. Cameron revealed on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight that he believed that being gay "detrimental and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization."
Kirk Cameron: "Marriage is almost as old as dirt, and it was defined in the garden between Adam and Eve. One man, one woman for life till death do you part. So I would never attempt to try to redefine marriage. And I don't think anyone else should either," explains Cameron. "So do I support the idea of gay marriage? No, I don't."
Source: "Kirk Cameron on Homosexuality." CNN.com. 3/02/2012.
Even though some think he was brave for sharing his beliefs, others did not agree with Cameron.

Although told with humor, the story of state legislator David Albo's wife not willing to have sex with him because of Virginia's horrid transvaginal ultrasound bill is really not funny.
